Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 March 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide analytical information to site operators.

Cookies can be "session cookies" (which expire when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them). They may be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third parties ("third-party cookies").

By using the Sight platform, you agree to the use of cookies as described in this policy. You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings — see Section 6 for details.

2. Cookies We Use

The following cookies are set by Sight or our service providers when you use the platform:

Name Type Purpose Duration
sight_session Strictly necessary Maintains your authenticated login session. Required for all logged-in features. Session (deleted on browser close)
sight_prefs Functional Stores your dashboard preferences such as default domain, display settings, and UI theme. 12 months
_ga Analytics (Google Analytics) Used by Google Analytics to distinguish users and track usage patterns across sessions. 2 years
_gid Analytics (Google Analytics) Used by Google Analytics to distinguish users within a 24-hour period. 24 hours
cf_clearance Security (Cloudflare) Set by Cloudflare to confirm you have passed a bot protection challenge. Required for access to the platform. 1 year

3. Types of Cookies and Your Choices

Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the website to function. They enable core functions like logging in, navigating between pages, and accessing secure areas. These cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the Service. sight_session and cf_clearance fall into this category.

Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features. For example, sight_prefs remembers your dashboard settings so you don't have to re-configure them on each visit. You can opt out of functional cookies, but this may affect your experience.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. You can opt out of analytics cookies by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.

4. localStorage

In addition to cookies, we use the browser's localStorage API to store analysis results and session data client-side for performance. This avoids unnecessary re-loading of data when you navigate within the dashboard.

No personally identifiable information (such as your name or email address) is stored in localStorage. Data stored in localStorage includes cached analysis results and UI state. You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings (typically under Application > Local Storage in Chrome/Edge DevTools, or Storage in Firefox Developer Tools).

localStorage data persists until cleared by you or by our application code — it is not sent to our servers automatically and is not accessible to other websites.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts to serve the Inter typeface. Google may set cookies or log IP addresses when fonts are loaded. We recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy for full details.

Lenis (Studio Freight): We use the Lenis JavaScript library (served via jsDelivr CDN) for smooth scrolling. Lenis does not set any cookies and does not collect personal information.

Stripe: Stripe may set cookies on checkout and payment pages to enable fraud prevention and payment processing. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. Stripe cookies only appear on payment-related pages.

6. Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies (such as sight_session) will prevent you from logging in and using the core features of the platform.

Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data

Mozilla Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

You can also use browser extensions such as Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin to manage tracking cookies on a per-site basis.
